Why is mental health important?

When we get hurt on our body, we quickly treat it. But when we get hurt in our mind, we often ignore it. We keep doing our daily work while carrying that pain inside us.
When this emotional pain becomes too much, our body starts getting sick. It is a sign that we need to take care of our mind. But our society teaches us to only care about physical pain, not mental pain.
Because we cannot see emotional pain, we ignore it until it starts affecting our body. We need to understand that our body follows our mind. If our mind is not okay, our body also shows problems.
So if you feel hurt or stressed inside, don’t be afraid to share it with someone you trust someone who understands you. Don’t hesitate to ask for help or talk about your feelings.

Remember, your first responsibility is to take care of yourself, because both physical and mental pain are felt by you alone.
